Freshman Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 8, 2016. Johnson had an excellent showing for Rockford this past weekend at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships. His top finish of the day came in the discus where he placed seventh with a throw of 36.05 meters. He also participated in the shot put where he finished twelfth with a throw of 10.81 meters, and the hammer where he placed thirteenth with a personal best distance of 32.62 meters.
