Senior Genesis Cerrato (Las Vegas, Nev./Valley) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 2nd, 2014. Cerrato was the top performer on Saturday for the Regents at the NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The senior had an outstanding day recording 15 points, which is the most ever by an RU female athlete at the event. She began her record setting day by running in the distance medley relay (dmr). In the dmr, Cerrato and three of her teammates finished 2nd and shattered the RU school record by nearly 20 seconds when they completed the race in 13:48.68. The senior then ran in the 5000 meter race taking 4th place with a time of 19:25.52. Finally, she followed up that excellent performance with a 7th place finish in the 3000 meter race. Her time of 11:09.12 also broke her own school record in the event.
