Freshman pitcher Alex Easton has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 7, 2023. In his first collegiate start, and a must win game for Rockford, Easton threw eight shutout innings to earn a win at Concordia University Chicago. He scattered 6 hits in the game, struck out 4 and did not allow a runner to reach third base. Easton then came back to start on just two days rest in another must win game against Benedictine. He held the Eagles scoreless for three innings, to bring his consecutive scoreless innings pitched streak up to 17, before surrendering three runs in the fourth. In total, Easton finished the week with a 1-0 record and a 2.38 ERA over his 11.1 innings pitched. Â
