Senior pitcher Mariah Martinez has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 28, 2024. Martinez appeared in all four of Rockford's games last week to anchor the Regent pitching staff. She began by tossing a complete game and holding #22 UW-Whitewater to only three runs. Martinez also came into game two in relief and tossed one shutout inning. In her other start, Martinez fired a complete game three-hitter and tied her season-high with five strikeouts and no walks at St. Norbert. She then concluded her week by throwing two shutout innings and earning a save in game two against the Green Knights. For the week, Martinez posted a 1.87 ERA over her team-high 15 innings pitched. She also struck out eight batters and allowed just four runs.
