Sophomore linebacker Joey Alvarez has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 8, 2024. Alvarez had a career day for the Regents in Saturday's blowout win at Beloit. He posted a career-high and tied Rockford's single-game record with 19 tackles, including 15 solo tacks, and 1.5 tackles for loss. Alvarez also intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble which led to an RU touchdown.
