HARTFORD, Wis.- The Rockford University golf team returned to action Sunday and Monday to compete in the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational at Washington County Golf Course. The tournament lasted 36 holes and Rockford had four golfers compete in the event.
Justin Christiansen (Rockford, Ill.) shot his best two rounds of the year to lead the Regents with a third place finish in the tournament. Christiansen shot a 1-under par 71 on Sunday and followed it up with a 75 on Monday. His 71 is the lowest round recorded in his collegiate career. The third place finish is also his best finish in his collegiate career and marks his first top 5 finish in his career.
Francis Souhala (Rockford, Ill.) shot an 84 and an 89 to finish in 66th place. Aren Boxleitner (Rockford, Ill.) shot his best round of the year on Monday with an 84 to bring him into a tie for 71st place. Alex Schleich (Freeport, Ill.) rounded out the scores for the Regents on Monday.
The Regents will return to action Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 to compete in the Fall Midwest Classic at The Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake, Wis.
