Senior shortstop Austin Smith (Peru, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 11, 2018. Smith drove in at least one run and had a hit in all of the Regents' games last week including a trio of multi-hit performances. The senior opened with a 2-for-5 performance including a double, a run scored and three RBIs against Carthage. He then went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in game one against Bethany Lutheran. His final multi-hit game came on Saturday against Carthage when Smith was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. For the week Smith had ten hits including four doubles, scored five runs and drove in ten runs, while recording a .476 batting average, a .542 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage.
