Sophomore Carl Rapp (Union, Ill./Belvidere North) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 7, 2012. Rapp set a personal best time in the 8k at the Gibson Family Pre-National Meet on Saturday. The sophomore completed the 8k race in 27:35.2 finishing 146th out of a total of 376 runners in a highly competitive field. There were nearly 40 institutions at the meet with five nationally ranked schools with nine ranked in the top 10 in their respective region.
