MADISON, Wis. - The Regents volleyball team traveled north into Wisconsin to face the Edgewood College Eagles on Friday night. Rockford was hoping to knock the Eagles off their perch atop the Northern Athletics Conference as they entered the match with an unblemished 4-0 record in NACC play. However, it was not meant to be as the Eagles proved to be too much defeating the Regents in straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-11).
Rockford freshman Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill./Grant Community) played well against Edgewood filling up her stat sheet with a solid all-around game. Rossi led the team with 9 kills and 10 assists. The freshman also added 8 digs to round out her evening.
Senior Heather Hyland (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) and junior Katelyn Hasken (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) each recorded double-digits in digs with 16 and 12 respectively. For Hyland, it was her eleventh match this season with at least ten digs and her fifth straight match in double figures. For Hasken, it was her tenth match recording double-digits digs this season including seven of the last nine matches.
The Rockford University volleyball team will be back on the court tomorrow against the MSOE Raiders. The match has a 6:00 p.m. start time.
