Men's Soccer Falls on the Road

LISLE, Ill. - The Regents men's soccer team has had a tough start to its season opening with eight of its first ten games on the road. Tuesday night was no different as the Regents traveled to play the Benedictine University Eagles who entered the match unbeaten in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. The Regents were unable to knock off the Eagles losing the match 7-0.

The Eagles used a burst of scoring in the first half to build a comfortable halftime lead. Benedictine scored three goals in a five minute span to put themselves up 3-0 at the half. They tacked on another goal shortly into the second half along with a trio of goals later in the half to seal the victory.

Rockford was able to record a few shots led by junior Diego Ramos (Chicago, Ill./Jefferson). Ramos took two of the Regents three shots including the team's only shot on goal. He is now tied with a team-high eight shots this season. Freshman Erick Perea-Mora (Rockford, Ill./Jefferson) was the other Regent to record a shot. He is now fourth on the team with five shots.

The men's soccer team wraps up its four-game road trip on Saturday, October 5th against Maranatha Baptist Bible College. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
