AURORA, Ill. - Rockford concluded its 2013 season on Wednesday with a trip to face rival Aurora University. The Regents were able to stay within striking distance of the Spartans for part of the match, but Aurora eventually pulled away winning the match 4-0. Rockford finishes the season with an overall record of 1-17 including an 0-11 NACC record.

Rockford was able to keep the game within reach for the entire first half as the first place Spartans could muster just one goal in the opening 45 minutes to take 1-0 lead into the half. However Aurora put the game away midway through the second half scoring on three occasions over a twenty minute span.

The Regents did have a pair of scoring opportunities, both of which came off the foot of Jessica Bjerning (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein). Bjerning recorded two shots on goal; however, neither found the back of the net.

Defensively freshman Alyssa Nicholson (Braidwood, Ill./Reed-Custer) concluded her season with another good performance. The freshman made 10 saves on 14 shots on goal. It was the eighth time this season she has made double-digit saves in a match. Nicholson finishes the regular season with 162 saves ranking her second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and just five saves behind the NACC leader.
