ROCKFORD, IL.- The Rockford University men's soccer team took the field Sunday afternoon against the visiting Buena Vista Beavers. Both teams battled through rain and a wet field but it was Buena Vista who came away with a 6-0 victory. It was a tough battle as both teams racked up 18 fouls.
Although the Regents did not find the back of the net they did have multiple chances to score. One of their best scoring chances came in the beginning of the second half when the game was still 3-0. Senior Sam Medina-Conchi (Milwaukee, Wis/Ronald Reagan) found himself infront of the net after receiving a pass from a teammate. Medina-Conchi played the ball off of one hop and barely missed the goal wide right. Rockford would finish with five shots altogether, narrowly missing their mark on each one.
The men's next game is on September 21st when they host Lakeland College at 2pm. This will be the Regents first conference game of the year and their last home game until October 9th. They are on the road to face conference opponent MSOE on September 25th.
