ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Regents women's soccer team began the home portion of its schedule on Thursday afternoon when the ladies hosted the Monmouth College Fighting Scots. Both teams entered the match looking for their first win of the 2013 season. However, it would be the Fighting Scots day as they scored less than a minute into the match and never looked back.
Rockford was on defense nearly the entire day on Thursday. Monmouth scored 35 seconds into the match and tacked on an additional six goals in the opening 45 minutes to take a 7-0 lead in the half. The Fighting Scots found the back of the net an additional three times in the second half cruising to a 10-0 victory.
The women's soccer team returns to the field next Tuesday when the Regents host the Knox College Prairie Fire. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. at Sam Greeley Field.
