Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Seiter and Manriquez Score in Season Finale

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Regents men's soccer team concluded its season on Wednesday afternoon on the road against the Concordia University Chicago Cougars. It was a tight match for much of the first half prior to the Cougars ultimately pulling away in the second half for the 6-2 win.

The Cougars broke the scoreless tie in the 22nd minute and added an additional goal in the 28th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half. Although Rockford was unable to score in the opening 45 minutes, the Regents were able to record three shots from a trio of different players.

The second half followed a similar trend as the Regents allowed a trio of goals before ultimately finding the back of the net twice. Junior Adam Seiter (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) scored Rockford's first goal of the afternoon off a penalty kick in the 73rd minute of the match. It was Seiter's fourth goal of the season which momentarily tied him for the team lead. Just over fifteen minutes later, freshman Erik Manriquez (Rockford, Ill./Thomas Jefferson) would retake the team lead with his fifth goal of the season off a through ball from Joseph Romano (Norridge, Ill./Guerin Prep) in the 89th minute of the match. However, it would not be enough as Rockford fell 6-2 to Concordia University Chicago.

The Regents recorded a NACC season-high 14 shot attempts on Wednesday which was double their previous high in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match this year. Erik Manriquez and Adam Seiter combined for half of Rockford's shots on the day with 4 and 3 respectively. The duo also tied for the team-high as they each tallied a pair of shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Kyle Adams (St. Louis, Mo./Timberland) recorded 13 saves in the match. It was the fourth time this season Adams tallied double-digit saves. The freshman also finished the regular season with 129 saves to lead the NACC.

The Regents finished the 2014 season with a 1-16-1 record.
