GALESBURG, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 113-70 on the road at Knox College Tuesday night. Unlike Rockford's previous two games this season, the Regents got off to a good start and led by as many as 12 points during the first half. However, Knox College closed the first half on a 29-8 run taking a 9 point lead into the intermission. Knox continued that momentum into the second half as the Regents were never able to cut into the lead and ultimately fell to the Prairie Fire.
Junior Diamond Williams (Carpentersville, Ill.) continued her stellar play this season as she recorded her first double-double of the season. Williams scored 15 points and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds. She rounded out her day with 2 blocks, 1 assist and 1 steal.
Fellow junior Amanda Davis (Mundelein, Ill.) also played well scoring a season-high 24 points on 12-of-26 shooting. Davis added 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal to her final stat totals.
Freshman Casey Pettit (Rockford, Ill.) was the final Regent to scoring in double-figures. Pettit tallied 10 points despite taking just 5 shot attempts.
The women's basketball team opens the home portion of its schedule this Saturday, November 29 against the MSOE Raiders. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in the Seaver Center.
