ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University men's soccer team returned to action Wednesday to face Aurora University in their final matchup of the season. Rockford started and slowly and never regained their footing losing by a final of 4-0.
Rockford started slowly in the match with Aurora scoring two goals in the first half to go into halftime down 2-0. The Spartans tacked on another goal making it 3-0 before the Regents saw their best scoring chance squandered. Erik Manriquez (Rockford, Ill.) broke free on a lead pass and had his first shot saved by the keeper and then had his second shot miss high off of a rebound attempt. Aurora recorded another goal to win by a final of 4-0. With the loss the Regents concluded their season.
Manriquez led the Regents with 31 shots with 13 on goal and 5 goals on the season. Tham Mana (Rockford, Ill.) recorded 13 shots with 6 on goal and 3 goals good for the second leading scorer for the Regents.
