ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University men's basketball team returned to action Wednesday, December 9 to take on Concordia University Wisconsin at the Seaver Center. Rockford started slow which enabled Concordia to take a commanding 24-point lead at halftime and ultimately lost by a 112-99 final.
The Regents fell behind immediately due to the sharpshooting of the Falcons. Concordia finished the first half shooting 61.5% from the floor and put in 9 three-point shots. Rockford managed to shoot 42.9% from the floor and put in 2 three-point baskets. The Regents had fallen behind 62-38 after the first half. In the second half Rockford mounted a comeback behind their high performance of 56.1% from the floor. Rockford slowed Concordia down in the second half holding them to 48.6% from the field. The Regents outscored the Falcons 61-50 in the second half to ultimately lose by the final of 112-99.
Leading Rockford offensively was Zach Wallace (Rockford, Ill.) who was outstanding tonight scoring a career-high 35 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 blocks. Michael Murray (Princeton, Ill.) once again recorded his 6th double-double of the season scoring 26 points with 13 rebounds. John O'Bryan (Richmond, Ky.) also played well scoring 14 points with 6 assists. Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) rounded out the Regents scorers in double-figures with 14 points.
The Rockford University men's basketball team will return to action Saturday, December 12 to take on Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wis. with a scheduled start time of 2 p.m.
