ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University men's soccer team returned to the field to take on Edgewood College. The Regents got off to a slow start in the first half and never regained control, ultimately falling 4-1.
Rockford started slow in the first half giving up three goals and trailing 3-0 at the half. In the second half, Rockford recorded six shots and continually put pressure on Edgewood. In the 83rd minute John Deleon (Des Plaines, Ill.) fired one into the back of the net from 45 yards out to give the Regents their lone goal in the match. Rockford could not muster any more offense falling by the final of 4-1.
Leading the offensive charge for Rockford was Deleon with 2 shots 1 coming on goal and 1 goal.
The Rockford University men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, October 3 to take on the MSOE Raiders at Sam Greeley Field with a scheduled start time of 1 p.m.
