Offensively the Regents collected two runs on five hits. Rockford had one excellent scoring opportunity in the third inning when Mercedes Boykin (Belvidere, Ill.) led the inning off with a walk and after a pop out she was followed by Lisa Blakeley-Snyder (Winnebago, Ill.) who rocketed a single into center field to give the team first and second with nobody out. After a strike out, Bura hit a two-out, two run double to right-center field to get Rockford on the board for the first time all day. The clutch hit by Bura also trimmed the deficit to 5-2. Ultimately, the Regents were unable to scratch any other runs across falling by the final of 7-2.
