AURORA, Ill. - The RU volleyball team traveled to take on the Aurora Spartans on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the Regents fell in three straight sets. The scores being 25-13, 25-8, and 25-4.
Rockford played hard but the Spartan attack was too much to overcome throughout the match. Freshman Jessica Diaz (Bolingbrook, Ill.) led the Regent attack recording 5 kills. Sophomore setter Kayla Barthels (Fort Worth, Texas) once again organized the attack for Rockford, having all 14 of the teams assists. On the defensive side freshman Jennifer Quintas (Rockford, Ill.) led the team with 7 digs, while Barthels helped contribute for 5 of her own.
RU volleyball returns to the court Friday, October 20 when they host Marian University. The match is scheduled for 7 PM.
