ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (3-5) lost by one goal to the UW-Whitewater Warhawks (7-0). The Regents put up a good fight against an undefeated team but could not push across a goal to challenge the Warhawks. Rockford's defense showed immense improvement tonight by keeping up with the Warhawks offense to make it an exciting 1-0 game.
- The Warhawks scored in the 25th minute of the first half by Brad Ludwig from a rebound off the cross bar.
- UW-Whitewater was able to control the ball for most of the game.
- The Regents defense was put on display, proving to be a major asset for the team.
- Regents goalie Francesco Martincig was impressive in goal making a stellar save in the 34th minute of the first half.
- Rockford was not able to pull through with a goal, losing 1-0.
The RU men's soccer team returns to action at Beloit College on Thursday, September 19 with a 4:30 PM start time.
