FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Rockford University baseball team (6-0) won its second game down in Florida 15-0 against Hiram College (1-1). The Regents are now 6-0 on the season for the first time since joining the NACC in 2007. Rockford went o a tear with 21 hits and 12 RBI's. A number of Regents had a fantastic day but it was Hunter Fiorito, Troy Tucci and Michael Gunter leading the pack.

• The Regents came out blazing with the bats, scoring nine runs in the first three innings. In the bottom of the first, Michael Gunter singled to right center to score Hunter Fiorito. Logan Streit singled to center to score Troy Tucci. Christian Garcia hit a scorching double down the left field line to score Logan Streit and Michael Gunter.
• In the bottom of the second inning the bats stayed hot with Christian Garcia singling to third base to score Hunter Fiorito and Jacob Rillamas singling to left center to bring in Logan Streit.
• The bottom of the third started on much of the same note with Dylan Johnson scoring on a wild pitch and Michael Gunter hitting a solid single to left field to score Troy Tucci and Hunter Fiorito.
• The Regents went scoreless in the bottom of the fourth inning but made up for it scoring two in the fifth, three in the sixth and one in the eighth. Troy Tucci came through for the Regents in the bottom of the fifth inning, hitting a single through the left side scoring Hunter Fiorito. Later in the inning Christian Garcia grounded out to second base but was enough to score Troy Tucci to take an 11-0 lead. Jacob Toepfer jumped on a pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning to single up the middle to score Zach Hunter. Michael Gunter came up in the bottom of the sixth inning and closed the door for the Regents hitting a monster double to right center field to score Jacob Toepfer and Hunter Fiorito to make it 14-0. The last run of the game came in the bottom of the eighth inning when Zach Hunter scored taking advantage of a dropped fly ball.
• Rockford's explosive offense and consistent pitching performance was to much for Hiram to handle, going on to win 15-0.
• Christian Pearcy had a solid performance on the mound throwing a shutout going six innings striking out 11 hitters, walking three and giving up five hits. Kerrick Jones came in for the Regents pitching three innings striking out six, no walks and giving up three hits. Pearcy got the win for Rockford, while Jones got the save closing the door for the Regents.

• Hunter Fiorito finished 4-4 with a double, 5 runs and one walk.
• Troy Tucci went 3-4 with three runs and an RBI.
• Michael Gunter had a huge day going 4-5 with a double, 4 RBI's, a walk and a run.
• Logan Streit went 3-4 with 2 runs and an RBI.
• Christian Pearcy threw 6 innings striking out 11 hitters, giving up 5 hits, 3 walks and no runs.
• Kerrick Jones pitched 3 innings with 6 strikeouts, no walks and no runs.

 The baseball team returns to the diamond on Monday, March 9 against Hiram. First pitch is scheduled for 11 AM central time in Fort Myers, Florida.
