ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Regents women's volleyball team (2-11), 0-3 NACC) lost all 3 sets of their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match on Friday night against the Concordia University-Wisconsin Falcons (10-3, 2-1 NACC). It was a first set to forget, never really able to get anything going, followed up by a close battle to the finish in the second set, and a tough third set deficit that would not be beat, giving CUW all 3 sets.
First Set
- It was a fast start that set the Regents back 15-5 in the first set, with an ace by Rockford's Casey Sheetz among the 5 points.
- The Regents would get 3 more points off of 2 errors and a kill by Melody Moreno, but CUW would get 10 more in that same sequence to take the first set, 25-8.
Second Set
- The regents would find some offense in the second set, keeping with the Falcons to an 8-8 score.
- The CUW Falcons would then go on a run to get themselves up to 21 points, ready to take another set, 21-14.
- But the Regents would come roaring back to only allow one point in a run that put them in set-taking position 23-22
- However Rockford would not cross the finish line first, Concordia Wisconsin would find the next 3 points to narrowly escape, 25-23.
Third Set
- Rockford would fall into an offensive slump again in the third set, giving up 12 points, and only able to grab 2 points of their own.
- CUW would cruise to a 21-6 lead, and then would finish the job 25-10, the Rockford highlights being aces from Brynn Atwell and Nicole Eggers.

The RU women's volleyball team will be immediately back in the Seaver Center gym at 12pm to face Marian University tomorrow afternoon, October 2nd.
