Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Total Team Effort Leads Men's Basketball to Victory

WATERTOWN, Wis. - Eleven different players scored on Tuesday, as Rockford (3-1) cruised to an easy 96-68 road win over Maranatha Baptist University (0-5). The Regents dominated the Sabercats in nearly all facets of the game. The Regents shot a season-high 48.6% from the floor, made a season-high 13 triples and went 13-of-16 from the free throw line. Rockford forced 13 turnovers and turned them into 15 points, compared to just two points off turnovers for the Sabercats. The Regents also outrebounded Maranatha 40-32, which led to a 16-7 edge in second chance points. However, the biggest difference in the game came in bench points, where Rockford held a whopping 48-19 advantage. All of these things combined led to the largest margin of victory in a game for the Regents since 2018.

  • Jaden Bell led the Regents with ten points in the first half. Charles Burnell had eight points, while DJ Bonds, Micah Swanson, Zac Centers and Connor Harn all chipped in six points.
  • Things got off to a fast start in the second half with Rockford scoring the first six points to extend its lead to 57-34. Jaden Bell and DJ Bonds each scored three points during the 6-0 run.
  • Rockford continued to pour it on the Sabercats throughout the second half. The Regents would eventually extend their lead to as many as 42 points following a Nick Phillips jumper with 5:38 remaining.
