Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford women's basketball team (4-3, 1-1 NACC) struggled and eventually fell to Concordia University Wisconsin (3-3, 2-1 NACC) in a low scoring game, 41-51. Concordia Wisconsin put on a defensive show, putting together 10 blocks as a team and held Rockford to a 19.7 field goal percentage. Despite the defeat, the Regents still had some bright spots.
Anaya Davis had yet another double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Rockford defense had a strong outing as well, totaling 16 steals as a team and holding CUW to 33.3 percent shooting from the field. The Regents, however, will drop back to .500 in conference play as the Falcons topped the Regents by a final score of 51-41.
- CUW started out the game on a 14-5 run in the first seven minutes of play, with Rockford's top scorers Anaya Davis and Audrina Terhune credited for the five Regents points.
- Rockford pulled the deficit down to six on a 6-3 run by the end of the quarter, Natalie Posadas hitting a layup and Makayla Ashford hitting two free throws and a last second layup. CUW was still out in front 17-11.
- Rockford came out firing in the second quarter, going on an 11-2 run to take the team's first lead of the game on an Audrina Terhune jumper. The score stood at 21-19 Regents in the lead.
- Concordia Wisconsin took the lead back before the end of the quarter and concluding the half on a 6-2 run. At the halftime horn the score stood at 25-24, CUW in the lead.
- The third quarter only had a total of 17 points combined between the two teams, nine for Concordia Wisconsin and eight for Rockford. Anaya Davis had seven of the eight points, including a three-pointer, and Audrina Terhune hit a free throw at the 1:52 mark. CUW was still holding its lead heading into the 4th, however, the score at 34-32.
- The Falcons ran away with the game in the fourth quarter, building a 10-point lead 46-36 after five minutes of play.
- It was an even 5-5 run for the remainder of the game, Rockford unable to overcome the Falcons lead, losing 51-41.
- Audrina Terhune led in points with 14, assists with 2, and tied for the team high in steals with 4. She also had 6 rebounds.
- Anaya Davis recorded yet another double-double, tallying 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
- Evelyn Abundes led the team in blocks with 2, she also had 4 steals, 3 rebounds, and 5 points.
The RU women's basketball team gets back on the road for the rest of the month, heading to Edgewood College next Tuesday for NACC game number three, scheduled for 7pm.
