ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (0-8, 0-8 NACC) fell 64-43 Saturday to the Benedictine University Eagles (3-0, 3-0 NACC). The Eagles took a 40-12 lead at the half and never looked back. Rockford struggled, shooting just 19.4% (12-62) from the field, while Benedictine shot 45.3% (24-53). The Regents showed some fight towards the end, but The Eagles went on to take the game by a final score of 64-43.
- The first quarter got off to a rocky start as the Regents scored only four times en route to a 19-8 deficit after the first quarter.
- The Eagles continued to dominate in the second quarter, holding the Regents to just four points and going into the half leading 40-12.
- The third quarter looked like it was going to be much of the same with the Eagles scoring the first nine points.
- However, after some back-and-forth scoring, Rockford went on a 9-0 run to close out the third quarter down 55-25. Scoring for the Regents was Jocelyn Callahan, Lauren Shafer, Lamyia Maebane and Roshanda Stevens.
- The Regents outperformed the Eagles in the fourth quarter with an 18-9 run. Jocelyn Callahan, Amber Krause and Kennedy Gaddis all adding three-pointers for the Regents.
- Although, it wasn't enough as Benedictine University went on to win 64-43.
- Jocelyn Callahan led the Regents with 9 points while recording 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
- Lauren Shafer tallied 8 points, 4 rebounds, an assist and a steal.
- Naynay Clark had 7 rebounds and 6 points.
- Neve Yerk added 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 points.
