LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team wrapped up its season at home on Tuesday night against Illinois Tech. The Scarlet Hawks netted a pair of goals midway through the first half and never looked back. Neither team was able to score after the 31st minute of the match, as Rockford fell by a final of 2-0. The Regents continued to show signs of improvement right up to the final whistle of the season. Rockford's 2-goal loss to the Scarlet Hawks was tied for the closest match between the two schools since the 2014 season.
- Kayla Smith found the back of the net in the 20th minute of the match to break the scoreless tie and give IIT a 1-0 lead.
- Smith then scored her second goal of the match in the 30th minute to put the Scarlet Hawks out in front 2-0 heading into the half.
- Neither team was able to get much going offensively in the second half, as IIT held on for the 2-0 victory.
