WATERTOWN, Wis. - The Rockford University men's basketball team cruised to a convincing 105-62 road win on Saturday afternoon against the Maranatha Baptist University Sabercats. It truly was a dominate victory, as Rockford once again did not trail in the game and has yet to trail at any point thus far this season. Offensively, the Regents were on fire the entire afternoon. Rockford shot 51.3% (39-76) from the floor, 44.4% (16-36) from three-point range and 84.6% (11-13) from the free throw line. Defensively, Rockford forced an incredible 30 turnovers and converted them into 44 points. The Regents also held the Sabercats to a measly 39.2% (20-51) shooting, including 25.9% (7-27) from beyond the arc.
- The Regents scored the first five points as a part of a larger 28-8 run to open the game. Six different Regents scored over that span, led by eight from Micah Swanson and six from Zac Centers.
- Rockford extended its lead to as many as 25 points off a three-pointer from Charles Burnell, before taking a 49-29 advantage into the half.
- The Regents quickly pushed their lead to 31 points after a 15-4 run to begin the second half. Kevin Diemer and Vincent Eugene led the charge with five points apiece, including each of them knocking down a triple.
- The Sabercats were able to get the Regent lead back down to 27 with 13:12 left in the game.
- Rockford then proceeded to score the next 17 points to take an 85-41 lead. Ethan Ackerman led the Regent run with eight points, while Evan Davidson chipped in five points.
- The Regents would extend their lead to as many as 48 points, before going on to win by a final score of 105-62.
- Eleven different Regents scored in the game, eight of which made at least one three-point basket.
- The Regents also got an incredible 43 points from their bench.
- Kevin Diemer finished with a team-high 19 points on 7-10 shooting. He also had 5 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.
- Micah Swanson had 16 points on 7-9 shooting. He added 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.
- Charles Burnell tallied 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
- Ethan Ackerman chipped in a career-high 18 points on 6-9 shooting, including going 4-5 from long range. He also had 2 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist and 1 steal.
- Evan Davidson finished with 11 points on 4-5 shooting, including draining all three of his three-point attempts. He also recorded 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
- Mateo Fernandez Solari tallied 7 points, a game-high 6 assists, a game-high 5 steals and 1 rebound.
