DE PERE, Wis. - The Rockford University men's basketball team fell 73-59 on the road Saturday afternoon at St. Norbert College. Rockford trailed 51-29 at the half, but fought its way back to within nine points on several occasions in the second the half. Unfortunately, the Green Knights turned back each of Rockford's advances, thanks in large part to an excellent shooting performance that included 12 made three-pointers. St. Norbert shot 50.0% (12-24) from beyond the arc, compared to just 26.3% (5-19) for Rockford.
- St. Norbert lead wire-to-wire after opening the game on a 10-0 run.
- Fortunately, Rockford responded right back with a 14-8 spurt of its own, capped off by a three-point play from Kevin Diemer. Diemer led the way for Rockford with five points, while Zac Centers chipped in three.
- With Rockford now trailing 33-26 at the 5:06 mark, the Green Knights closed the half on an 18-3 run and took a commanding 51-29 advantage into the break.
- Rockford shot a solid 44.0% from the field; however, St. Norbert hit a blistering 58.6% of its shot attempts, including 11 three-pointers.
- The Regents would not go down without a fight however. Rockford began the second half on 12-2 run, to cut the Green Knight led back down to just 12 at 53-41. Amareon Parker scored the final seven points for the Regents and went a perfect 2-2 from the field and 3-4 at the free throw line.
- Rockford was final able to get the deficit back down to single-digits at 56-47, following a Noody Lacey fastbreak layup with 11:27 left in the game.
- St. Norbert built its lead back up to as many as 16 before Rockford made one final push over the closing five minutes.
- The Regents scored nine of the next eleven points to make it a 68-59 game with 1:57 remaining. Four different Regents scored over that span, led by three from Zac Centers.
- Unfortunately, the Green Knights scored the game's final five points at the free throw line to seal the 73-59 victory.
- Amareon Parker finished with a season-high 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, 3 steals, 1 assist and 1 rebound.
- Kevin Diemer added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals off the bench.
- Zac Centers chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds.
- Ashton Singleton had 9 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
