ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University football team fell 77-10 to the 11th ranked team in division III football, the Aurora University Spartans. The Regents had a tough time getting anything going on either side of the ball. The Spartans scored on 9 straight touchdowns on the Regents and did not use the punt until the fourth quarter. The Spartans were able to hold the Regents from finding the end zone most of the game, until the Regents were able to score a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Aurora was able put up 595 yards of total offense, and the Regents put up 302 yards.Â
- The Spartans were able to score just 2 minutes and 10 seconds into the game on a touchdown pass hauled in by Trey Madsen.
- Aurora was able to score on its next two drives of the first quarter with a rushing touchdown by Ian Luyando and 43 yard touchdown catch by Michael Boland to go up 21-0 over the Regents.
- The Spartans again scored on their next two drives of the second quarter with a touchdown catch by Connor Bright and Trey Madsen to make it a 35-0 game.
- The Regents were able to tack some points on the board with a 23 yard field goal by Kaden Finnestad to give the Regents 3.
- The Spartans responded with a 12 yard touchdown run by Jhequay Chretin to give his team a 42-3 lead going into the half.
- In the third quarter, the Spartans added to their lead with another 4 touchdowns, with 3 rushing touchdowns by Jhequay Chretin and 60 yard pick 6 by Connor Nordmeyer to go up 70-3.
- The Regents were finally able to find the endzone after forcing Aurora's first punt of the day with Jaelen Ray finding Noah Jankelovitz to give the Regents 6.
- The Spartans were able to score one more time before the game's end and walk away with a 77-10 win over the Regents.Â
