ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team had two players recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Thursday morning when it released its 2023 postseason awards. Junior midfielder Abraham Gonzalez was tabbed Second Team All-NACC and freshman goalkeeper Andrik Vidaurri earned NACC Honorable Mention status. This is the first time that either player has received a postseason award from the NACC, and it is also the first time since 2019 that Rockford has had multiple all-conference recipients in a full season.

Junior Abraham Gonzalez earned Second Team All-NACC honors for the first time in his career. Gonzalez was the Regents' top scoring option and one of the most clutch performers in the NACC this season. He scored a team-high five goals and an incredible four game-winning goals, which was tied for second in the conference. Three of those four game winners came in 1-0 NACC victories, which helped propel Rockford to its first ever NACC Tournament appearance. Gonzalez also lead the team in points (12) and was second in assists (2), shots (37) and shots on goal (14).

Freshman goalkeeper Andrik Vidaurri was voted NACC Honorable Mention in his first season as a Regent. Vidaurri burst onto the scene this year and was rewarded for his outstanding play by being voted as one of the top three goalies in the NACC. He finished the year ranked in the top four in the conference in basically every goalkeeper stat category. Vidaurri led the NACC in saves (87), finished second in shutouts (6) and saves per game (4.83), third in minutes played (1528:50) and fourth in save percentage (.731). This is Vidaurri's second award from the conference this year, as he was previously named the NACC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
