LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team fell 4-0 at home to Aurora University in this Wednesday afternoon NACC matchup. This match was actually pretty evenly matched throughout the first 34 minutes of the match, but Aurora broke the scoreless tie in the 35th minute. The Regents showed some good effort on defense and
Kaeleigh Taylor put up an 10 save performance, but Aurora was able to score 3 goals in the second half and win the match 4-0.
- The match remained quite close throughout the first part of the game, staying knotted up 0-0, through the first 34 minutes of the match.
- Aurora broke the scoreless tie in the 35th minute to take the lead 1-0 over the Regents.
- The Regents had opportunities to respond with 2 corner kicks in the 36th minute, but unfortunately neither of the kicks resulted in a score for the Regents.
- Rockford had a chance to get things going in the second half in the 57th minute on a shot from Rianna Tovar, but her shot ended up wide.
- The Spartans were able to double their lead on another goal in the 74th minute to put them up 2-0 and they continued to add on with goals in the 75th and 84th minutes to make the score 4-0 Aurora.
- The Regents had an opportunity to get on the board in the 90th minute with a shot from Mia Ostler, but her try was saved by the Spartan goalkeeper.
