LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team received its first lost after a tough game versus Monmouth College. The Regents out-saved the Fighting Scots 7-1 on a hard-working day in the goal by
Kaeleigh Taylor, but the Regents found it hard to get the offensive firepower that they showcased in their first two games, getting outshot 18-3 by the Fighting Scots. Monmouth College came out of the gates hot with a goal in the 2nd minute of the game and went up 1-0 early and this would create an early uphill battle for the Regents that ultimately resulted in Monmouth walking away with the victory 4-0.
- The Fighting Scots would strike early in the match with a goal in the 2nd minute by Madison Walker, putting them up 1-0 very early in the game.
- Jae Mitchell for the Fighting Scots would pressure again right after the score with a shot on goal, but Kaeleigh Taylor would make a great save to keep the Regents within 1 with plenty of time on the clock.
- Monmouth would find the back of the net again in just the 16th minute on another goal by Madison Walker, assisted by Grasyn Schmidt and Natalie Flores, putting the Fighting Scots up 2 in the blink of an eye.
- The Regents would put some pressure on the Fighting Scots in the 23rd minute on a shot on goal by Tessa DelRosario, but unfortunately it was saved.
- Monmouth College would score for the third time in the 32nd minute on a goal by Lynn Rech, putting them up 3-0.
- The Fighting Scots would find the back of the net one more time on Madison Walker's third goal of the half, giving her a hat trick in the first half and her team a 4-0 lead with the first half winding down.
- The Fighting Scots had a few chances to score in the second half on shots from Lynn Rech and Danielle Beach, but they were denied with saves from Kaeleigh Taylor.
- The Regents would have a great chance to score on a breakaway in the 83rd minute by Maggie Pacileo, but unfortunately would miss wide.
