ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 59-55 in a heartbreaking loss to the Judson University Eagles. Rockford found itself in control for a majority of the game, grabbing the lead early and eventually grasping an eight-point 32-24 lead at the half. The biggest difference in the game was Judson's proficiency from the free throw line, converting 21-23 (91.3%), while Rockford struggled with a 5-13 (38.5%) performance. This allowed the Eagles to methodically cut into the Rockford lead throughout the game and the fourth quarter especially. Judson eventually took the late lead with 2 minutes and 39 seconds left in regulation. The Regents fought until the end but were unable to overcome the tough fourth quarter and the Eagles were able to close out and secure the victory.
- Rockford grabbed a slight lead to open the game at 8-6 after a D'Asia Washington layup.
- The Regents continued to stay in control throughout the first quarter, eventually holding an 18-12 lead after a slight 10-6 run to close out the quarter. Rockford shot 4-7 (57.1%) from the field, 2-4 (50%) from beyond the arc and Alyssa Havard and Katie Paredes led all scorers during the run with 3 points each.
- Rockford and Judson traded baskets to open up the second quarter, with the Regents maintaining their lead, eventually finding their way to a 24-18 lead after a Kyla Wilkerson triple.
- RU was able to close out the half with a mini 8-6 run to hold a 32-24 lead at the break.
- Rockford found its way to a double-digit 41-30 lead with a 9-6 run to open the half, led by Nia Wilkerson with 5 points.
- The Regents eventually held a 12-point lead with time dwindling in the third quarter after a Jocelyn Callahan layup gave Rockford the 46-32 lead.
- Rockford quickly rolled out to its largest lead of the night to open the fourth quarter after Lexi Keating delivered a layup to give the Regents a 17-point 51-34 lead.
- Judson was able to work its way back into the game with a massive 14-2 run over the next 3 minutes and 38 seconds to make it just a five-point 53-48 RU lead.
- The Eagles continued to claw their way back and unfortunately stole the lead from Rockford at 54-53 with 2 minutes and 39 seconds left in regulation.
- Rockford was unable to get any closer and Judson was able to close out the game and complete the 59-55 comeback win.
- Nia Wilkerson had a game and season-high 15 points and 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. Wilkerson also provided 2 assists, 1 block and a steal.
- Katie Paredes delivered a 12-point night with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
