ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 64-62 in a Saturday afternoon nail-biter to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars. The Cougars were able to shoot the ball effectively from the floor, leading the way with a 52.4% - 38.6% advantage. Despite the large margin in shooting, the Regents were able to dominate the offensive side of the glass, holding a large, 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. This allowed the Regents to dominate in second chance points 17-4, which helped them claw back into striking distance of the Cougars. As well as an important 13-1 run in the fourth quarter to keep the comeback hopes alive, but unfortunately the Cougars were able to hold on and walk away with the win. With the loss, the Regents fall to 1 game back of the 8th spot in the NACC standings, with the top 8 set to play in the NACC tournament.
- The game started out even with a 7-7 score after CUC tied it up with a jumper.
- The Cougars were able to take a slight 7-3 run over the Regents and take a 14-10 lead, they continued to hold that lead for the rest of the quarter and took a 17-12 lead after one.
- The Cougars and Regents traded 6-point runs to make it a 23-18 game after a triple from Nia Wilkerson to cap things off.
- CUC then went on a 14-2 run, in a stretch where they shot a perfect 6-6 from the floor, to take a commanding 37-20 lead and eventually take a 40-26 lead into the half.
- The Regents scored the first 4 points of the third quarter to cut the Cougar lead to 40-30.
- Rockford was able to muster up an 8-3 run to battle back just a 5-point deficit after a layup from Katie Paredes to make it a 43-38 game.
- The Cougars were able to retake control and find their way to a 53-42 lead with one quarter left to play.
- CUC was able to tack onto its lead with a slight 7-4 run to make it a 60-46 game with 6:10 remaining in the game.
- The Regents came alive and went on a huge 13-1 run, during which they shot 5-6 from the floor and 2-2 from beyond the arc, all led by Audrina Terhune with 8 points to make it a 61-59 score with 1:56 left.
- Rockford did its best to battle back into the game and pull off the impressive comeback, but CUC was able to handle business and hold on for the 64-62 win.
- Audrina Terhune produced 16 points with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter, on 3-7 shooting from beyond the arc and a season-high 8 assists.
- Nia Wilkerson provided 14 points, on 60% shooting also picking up 2 assists and a season-high 8 rebounds.
- Lexi Keating delivered 8 points, 3 rebounds and tied her career-high with 3 steals.
