RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team earned a spot in the 2024 NACC Tournament with a 78-43 road win on Saturday afternoon at Dominican University. The Regents dominated all facets of the game pretty much from start to finish, including outrebounding the Stars 52-31. Rockford led by as many as 41 points late in the fourth quarter en route to sweeping the two-game regular season series against Dominican for the first time since the 2014-15 season. Rockford's win coupled with Lakeland's loss on Saturday secures the #8 seed for the Regents in next week's conference tournament. Rockford will now travel to play at top-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday, February 21 at 7 PM.
- Dominican held their largest lead of the game at 8-3 with 7:15 remaining in the first quarter.
- With Rockford now leading 13-12 at the 4:34 mark, the Regents scored the final ten points of the quarter to blow the game wide open. Rockford went 4-for-6 from the floor over that span led by a pair of triples off the hand of Jocelyn Callahan.
- The Regents steadily built their lead up to as many as 27 points in the first half following a Nia Wilkerson three-pointer.
- Rockford went on to outscore Dominican 22-9 in the second quarter and take a commanding 45-21 lead into the break.
- The outcome of the game was never in doubt at any point in the second half. Rockford led by at least 23 points throughout the third quarter and by no less than 32 points in the fourth.
- The Regents led by a game-high 41 points on multiple occasions midway through the fourth. The first coming on a D'Asia Washington layup and the latter after a Grace Vyborny layup with 5:50 left in the game.
- All in all, 15 different Regents played on Saturday, with 12 of them scoring at least one point.
- It was Rockford's largest margin of victory against Dominican since a 91-55 win back on January 21, 2014.
- Jocelyn Callahan led the Regents with 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including knocking down 3-of-4 shots from three-point range. She also had 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
- Nia Wilkerson had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals off the bench.
- Grace Vyborny added 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
- D'Asia Washington tallied 8 points, a game-high 10 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.
