ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford University junior punter Kaden Finnestad was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday morning. This is the first weekly award of Finnestad's collegiate career, and he becomes just the second Regent punter in program history to be selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

Kaden Finnestad averaged 53.3 yards per punt in Rockford's game at Benedictine on Saturday afternoon. All four of his punts traveled over 40 yards, including a 56-yard punt that was downed at the 9-yard line, and a season-long 68-yard punt. 

The RU football team will open the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, September 28 against St. Norbert College. Kickoff is set for 1 PM at Sam Greeley Field.
