ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University men's soccer team fell to the Aurora University Spartans 9-0 on a windy Wednesday afternoon.
Rockford was outshot 29-2 in the game. Aurora's high-powered offense never slowed down throughout the entirety of the match.
The Spartans first goal came in the 3rd minute. They were able to convert twice more in the ensuing three minutes. After a finish by Aiden Karrer in the 42nd, Aurora took a 4-0 lead into the half.
The Regents could never find their rhythm offensively.
Charles Obieze had a good look in the 86th minute but it was saved by the Spartans.
Wesley Pritzlaff finished the game with 9 saves but couldn't overcome the barrage of Aurora shots, which earned them five more second half goals and a 9-0 victory.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they head to the Milwaukee School of Engineering for a 1 p.m. CDT kickoff.
