ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's soccer team faced off against the Benedictine University Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. The Regents kept it close for awhile, but Benedictine eventually pulled away 6-0.

Jasmin Pinedo, was celebrated before kickoff.
It was a competitive first half. The Regents' defense fended away every Eagle attack.
Lily Rose finished the half with 13 saves as Rockford headed into the break tied 0-0.
Benedictine found its offense in the second half. Kailyn Knudson scored in the 47th minute and ended the game with a hat trick.
The Eagles added more cushion throughout the period, with their final goal coming in the 85th minute.
Lay Wah was unable to convert off a corner kick in the 90th minute, which made the final score 6-0.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11, with a 3:30 p.m. CDT match at Lakeland University.
