CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Rockford University men's basketball team lost to Illinois Tech in NACC action on Wednesday, 69-63.
DeVon Oregon led the Regents in scoring with 18 points. Oregon also tallied seven rebounds.
Cooper Jackson led Rockford in rebounds with nine.
Rockford got off to a solid start in the first half, as the Regents built themselves a 32-21 lead, the largest lead they had in the game. The Scarlet Hawks, however, went on an 11-6 spurt as the Regents held a 38-32 lead at halftime.
Illinois Tech continued its push in the second half to eventually take its first lead at 40-38 as a part of an 8-0 run. This was the Scarlet Hawks' first lead since the 16:15 mark in the first half when they had a 7-6 lead.
The Regents grabbed the lead once more when Oregon made a triple with 1:59 remaining to take a 61-59 lead, but the Scarlet Hawks made one more push to win the game, going on a 10-2 run.
On the evening, Rockford shot 42.2% from the field, 76.2% from the charity stripe, and won the rebounding battle, 33-28.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, when they play at Benedictine at 1 p.m. CST.
