ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team lost to non-conference opponent North Central College, 81-45, on Friday at the Seaver Center.
Te Simpson recorded a double-double to lead the Regents with 23 points and 13 rebounds.Â
Nia Wilkerson tallied eight points and eight rebounds.Â
North Central got off to a hot start to get out ahead 16-0. Unfortunately for the Regents, turnovers and shooting struggles in the first half resulted in the Regents trailing at halftime 42-14.Â
The Regents improved in the second half, scoring 31 points, shooting 46.43% in the second half, and making both three point attempts in the second half.Â
Rockford fought hard but was not enough to overcome the first-half deficit.Â
On the evening, the Regents shot 36.7% from the floor, 19.2% from three, and outrebounded the Cardinals 45-42.Â
The Regents will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 30, when they will take on non-conference opponent, Judson University, at 1 p.m. CST.Â
