ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford University senior forward D'Asia Washington capped off her outstanding week with a pair of awards on Tuesday morning. Washington was named both the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week and as a forward on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. This is the first time she has received either award, and she becomes the first RU women's basketball player to earn either or both awards in a season in three years. 

D'Asia Washington averaged 20.7 points on 66.7% shooting, 9.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals to help lead Rockford to a 2-1 NACC record last week. She opened with 20 points and 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the year in a win at Concordia Chicago. She then had 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist for her second double-double in as many games in a win over Dominican. Washington ended the week by tying her season and career-high with 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist against Marian.

The RU women's basketball team will play its final two games of the season at home later this week. The Regents are set to host Benedictine on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:15 PM and will then welcome Concordia Chicago to the Seaver Center on Saturday, February 22 at 3:15 PM.
