D'Asia Washington Nets First Team All-NACC Status

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball program had a player recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for the second straight year when the NACC released its all-conference awards on Wednesday afternoon. Senior forward D'Asia Washington was voted First Team All-NACC by the conferences fourteen head coaches. This is the first NACC postseason award of Washington's career and is the first time the RU women's basketball program has had a First Team All-NACC selection since the 2021-22 season. 

Senior forward D'Asia Washington was named First Team All-NACC for the first time in her two seasons as a Regent. Washington was an absolute force to reckoned with throughout the entire year. She led the Regents in almost every statistical category and finished in the top eight in the NACC in seven categories, including four top seven rankings. At the conclusion of the NACC Tournament, Washington led the conference and was 12th amongst all NCAA Division III women's basketball players in offensive rebounding (4.7), was second in double-doubles (8), fifth in rebounding (8.1), seventh in scoring (14.9), 12th in field goal percentage (.464), 14th in minutes played (28.8) and 23rd in defensive rebounding (3.4). Washington's 104 offensive rebounds are the 3rd most in a season for any RU women's basketball player over the last 19 years.
