RIPON, Wis. - The Rockford University women's soccer team hit the road for the first time this season on Saturday to face the Ripon College Red Hawks. Unfortunately, the Regents struggled to get anything going and fell by a final score of 8-0. Ripon's Rebecca Roszel scored the first two goals of the match en route to taking a 5-0 lead into the half. The Red Hawks then tacked on three more in the second half to secure the victory.
- Rebecca Roszel scored goals in the sixth and fourteenth minutes to put the Red Hawks out in front 2-0.
- Ripon then added goals in the 27th, 36th and 45th minutes to take a commanding 5-0 lead into the break.
- Following anther Red Hawk goal five minutes into the second half, Rockford had its first scoring opportunity of the match. Sofia McLaughlin fired a shot towards the bottom center of the net, but it was saved by the Ripon keeper.
- Rockford's other shot on goal came off the foot Ariana Moreno, but unfortunately, the Red Hawks once again came up with the save to keep the Regents off the board.
- Ripon added two more goals over the rest of the half to seal the 8-0 win.
