Box Score AURORA, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team lost to the Aurora University Spartans on Wednesday night, 111-50.

Te Simpson continued her stellar individual season, setting a new career high with 25 points. She finished one rebound shy of a double-double with nine. Nia Wilkerson added 12 points and 3 steals.

Aurora wasted no time getting started. They scored 44 first-quarter points, knocking down 11-16 three-pointers in the period.

Rockford put up a much better second quarter, going 7-11 from the field and scoring 17 points, but they couldn't keep up with the Spartans' offense, which took a 70-26 lead into the break.

Aurora's hot shooting continued in the second half, specifically from deep. They tied an NCAA Division III record for threes made in a game with 26, and set their program record for attempts with 56.

All this was too much for the Regents to overcome, unable to keep up even with Simpson's outstanding performance.

The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, when they host MSOE for Senior Day at the Seaver Center. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. CST.
