Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Regents Wallop Waldorf

FOREST CITY, Iowa -- The Rockford University men's soccer team dominated the Waldorf University Warriors on Saturday night for their first victory of the season.

The Regents got things going early and often. Dasha Curiel cemented himself in the 17th minute, scoring unassisted for his second goal of the season.

He wasn't done. Curiel found the back of the net twice more in the first half, both goals coming in the 30th minute. The first of those goals was assisted by Nathan Dorado.

Curiel's hat trick put RU up 3-0, but they didn't stop there. Gabriel Carmona hit pay dirt in the 37th minute to extend the lead to four.

Before the horn sounded for halftime, Rejhan Jakupi set up Isaac Chavez for the Regent's fifth goal of the first half, taking a 5-0 lead into the break.

Rockford called the dogs off in the second half, but not before Devon Hinko scored eight minutes into the period. His finish made it a 6-0 match, and it came off Jakupi's second assist of the night.

Isaiah Batres started in goal, saving all five of Waldorf's shots on goal.

Rockford outshot Waldorf 15-10, with the Warriors holding the corner kick advantage 5-4.

The Regents will return to action on Monday, Sept. 7, when they host Knox at 3 p.m. on Labor Day.
