Dennis Kehrer

Dennis Kehrer enters his 8th season as an assistant coach for the Regents. He serves as both the team's primary infield and hitting coach.  

This past year the Regents saw an unprecedented amount of individual success on the field. Rockford had a program record ten All-NACC selections, four All-Region honorees and two All-Americans. 

Kehrer served as an assistant coach at Judson University from 2016-18, where he worked with the infielders and hitters. During that time, the Eagles were conference champions and tournament champions.  The Eagles made the Regional Tournament both years. In 2017, the Eagles were ranked in the top 15 in the NAIA in fielding percentage.  Under Kehrer's guidance, the Eagles had 4 Gold Glove winners and 8 All Conference selections. 

Kehrer brings a wealth of coaching knowledge that spans over 20 years to the Rockford dugout. In recent years, Kehrer served as the head coach at multiple local high schools. From 2008-10 he led the varsity baseball program at Winnebago High School before taking the reins as the head varsity coach at Belvidere North from 2011-14.

In addition to coaching at the high school level, Kehrer also served as the regional director for the Crossroads Series Showcase. From 2012-13, Kehrer was the head coach for Team Illinois Crossroads series. He is the founder of the largest travel baseball program in the Stateline area, where he coaches a prospect team. 

Kehrer currently resides in Rockford, Ill. with his wife Sheryl, son Tanner and daughters Katelyn and Bella.
