Jon Zohlamnn joined the Rockford University football staff just prior to the start of the 2024 season. Zohlmann will serve as the team's defensive backs coach and co-special teams coordinator.Â
Coach Zohlmann joins the Regents after serving two seasons as the defensive line coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Zohlmann was heavily involved in all aspects of their football program including: recruiting, coaching and practice planning for the defensive line, assisting with scout team, film breakdown, helping develop the defensive game plan, assisting with the special teams, community outreach, fundraising and gameday personnel decisions. The Prairie Wolves defensive line thrived under Zohlmann's tutelage. In 2023, NWU tallied 18 sacks (most sine 2014), 61 tackles for loss (most since 2012) and allowed the fewest rushing yards per game in over a decade.Â
Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Zohlmann played on both the defensive and offensive lines at various points during his collegiate career at Central College. The Dutch won a pair of American Rivers Conference titles and earned two berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament (2019 & 2021). Central won at least one postseason game in each of those two years, including advancing all the way to the quarterfinals in 2021.
Zohlmann earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2022 from Central College.Â
