Vic Wallace

Vic Wallace became Rockford’s fifth head coach in theprogram’s 11 years in January 2011. Wallace is entering hisfourth season leading the Regents football program. Entering the2014 season, Coach Wallace currently sits tied for 7th among activecoaches in NCAA Division III football with 180 wins. 

Wallace is entering his 38th year of coaching at the NCAADivision I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA levels.His overall head coaching record of 180-136-3 has included nineconference championships and ten national playoff appearances,including one finals appearance and four trips to the semifinals.Wallace has also been named conference Coach of the Year seventimes and NAIA Region IV National Coach of the Year twice. He wasalso given the Contribution to Amateur Football Award by theMemphis Chapter of the National Football Foundation and CollegeHall of Fame.

Most recently, Wallace spent 15 years as head coach at NAIALambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee.  During his time atLambuth, the Eagles won five conference titles and finished secondsix times.

Wallace also had head coaching stints at NCAA Division IIIUniversity of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and NAIA WilliamJewel College in Liberty, Missouri.

Prior to his first head coaching opportunity, Wallace was anassistant coach at NCAA Division I Texas Tech University inLubbock, Texas, NCAA Division II Morningside College in Sioux City,Iowa, and NCAA Division III Carroll College in Waukesha,Wisconsin.

In addition to his coaching credentials, Wallace has madesignificant contributions to academic and administrative missionsof his employers. Wallace has spent many years as a physicaleducation instructor, teaching subjects including kinesiology,Nutrition, and Sports Psychology.  He has also served asAthletic Director, Special Assistant to the President, and SportsInformation Director.

Wallace has his master’s degree in Physical Education fromthe University of Northern Iowa and a bachelor’s degree fromCornell College.   

Vic and his wife of 45 years, Dee, have three children. Mike and Mark, graduates of the University of St. Thomas, area teacher in metro Minneapolis and a doctor in the Boston area,respectively. Amy, an alumus of Lambuth University, is anenvironmental, health and safety engineer for Philips Company.
