Jeremy Reigle was hired in 2019 as the head men's basketball coach at Rockford University. Reigle has spent nearly two decades in the basketball coaching ranks, which also includes stops as the head coach at Presentation College and as an assistant at Rockford University and William Penn University.
The Rockford University men's basketball team has had an immense amount of success during Reigle's first five seasons at the helm of the program, including posting a winning record and qualifying for the NACC Tournament in each of the last four seasons. Rockford has had a total of 11 NACC Players of the Week, eight All-NACC selections, including six first team performers, two All-Region honorees, two Team of the Week selections and the 2020-21 NACC South Division Player of the Year. Reigle has also coached three 1,000-point scorers, including a 1,500-point scorer, and two 500-rebound performers.
During the 2023-24 season, Rockford finished with an 18-9 overall record to match its highest win total in 19 years. The Regents also won 11 NACC games, which is tied for the most in school history. Rockford was especially hot down the stretch, as the Regents ran off seven straight wins to post its longest winning streak in over two decades. The Regents also earned a berth in the NACC Tournament, where Rockford both hosted and won a NACC Tournament game.
The 2020-21 season was another highly successful year for the Regents. Reigle was voted the NACC South Division Coach of the Year after leading Rockford to its first ever NACC South Division regular season and tournament titles. The Regents also won multiple games in the NACC Tournament for the first time in program history and made their first ever appearance in the NACC Tournament Championship Game. The Regents' .750 NACC winning percentage was also best in program history. At the national level, Rockford finished its season ranked in the top 30 as a team in nine different categories. The Regents concluded their season ranked seventh in NCAA Division III in assists per game (18.9), 11th in total assists (265), 13th in field goal percentage (49.5%), 21st in three-point field goals made (133), 24th in free throw attempts (279), 25th in made free throws (191), 26th in three-point attempts (355), 26th in scoring offense (84.4) and 30th in total rebounds (542).
During his nine seasons with the Saints, Reigle amassed over 100 wins to became the program's all-time winningest coach and also posted the best winning percentage in program history. While at Presentation, Reigle coached 14 all-conference players, including a defensive player of the year, the only three NAIA All-Americans in school history, 32 NSAA Scholar-Athletes and five Daktronics Scholar-Athletes. In his final season, Reigle led the Saints to their best season in school history. Coach Reigle guided Presentation to its first ever regular season conference championship and a program record 11-3 mark in conference play. The Saints finished the year with a 21-10 overall record, which was the most wins in a single season in program history. In addition, Presentation spent six consecutive weeks in the 2018-19 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Poll. Coach Reigle was rewarded for his efforts by being named the 2018-19 NSAA Coach of the Year.
Prior to Presentation, Reigle was an assistant coach at Rockford University for the 2009-10 season. The Regents went 14-12 that year and qualified for the NACC Tournament for the second consecutive season. Despite only being at Rockford for one season, Reigle left an imprint on the program, as he was responsible for both recruiting and coaching one of the top players in the program's history, Robert Malone. Malone scored over 1,000 points, earned all-region status, was twice named all-conference and is still the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's career leader in points per game (22.6), despite playing just the final two years of his career as a Regent.
Before coming to Rockford, Reigle began his coaching career at William Penn University, where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach. The Statesmen went 50-16 during Reigle's two years on staff, were ranked as high as #2 in the NAIA national poll and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in 2008.
Reigle, an Oregon, Ill. native, graduated from William Penn University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in History and Government. He currently resides in Rockford with his wife, Nikki, and their two sons, Owen and Mason.
